LAMP #3

Capricorn Teahouse, the lamp of July.

DETAILS:

Introducing one of my most sculptural lamps, Capricorn Teahouse is a harmonious blend of architectural elegance and tactile artistry. Crafted with an innate understanding of how light can transform a living space, this lamp is not just a source of illumination; it is a statement piece that speaks to the very essence of your surroundings, while the separate ceramic lampshade gently diffuses light, creating an inviting atmosphere that resonates with mindfulness and tranquility. Inspiration for this piece emerged from a deepening interest in Zen philosophy, particularly the notion of capturing the ephemeral nature of light.

  • Handmade Stoneware table lamp comprised of a carved handbuilt ceramic base and a separate handbuilt ceramic lampshade made from Dobels clay near St Agnes, Cornwall.

  • Glazed with an ash glaze made from Tamar River Valley Reeds from outside my home. The glaze is a thick, clear glaze.

  • Wired with repurposed electric components that have been tested and tagged. Standard UK socket.

  • Electric fired.

  • Base diamater: 22cm approx

  • Height: 42 cm approx

  • Lampshade diameter: 43 cm approx
